How to use yellow PTFE tape

Clean the threads: Make sure the pipe threads are clean and dry.

Apply the tape: Wind the tape clockwise around the male threads of the pipe fitting.

Overlap slightly: Overlap the tape by about half its width, and apply 2-3 wraps, depending on the pipe and fitting.

Tuck the end: Finish by tucking the end of the tape under the last layer so it doesn't snag.
