What Is Pea Gravel Used For?
Pea gravel is a versatile landscaping and construction material, commonly used for:
1. Pathways & Walkways
Soft underfoot and provides good drainage.
Ideal for informal garden paths or walkways through flower beds.
2. Driveways
Offers a decorative finish with excellent drainage.
Works best when contained by borders or edging.
3. Ground Cover / Mulching
Used around plants or in flower beds as a decorative mulch.
Helps suppress weeds and retains soil moisture.
4. Patio Base or Surface
Can be used alone or as a base for pavers or flagstones.
Creates a rustic, natural look.
5. Drainage Projects
Excellent for use in French drains or around pipes due to its permeability.
Prevents waterlogging around foundations or in garden beds.

Things to Consider:
Movement: Pea gravel shifts underfoot, so it may not be suitable for bike or wheelchair traffic unless stabilized.

Weed Barrier: Often used with landscape fabric underneath to reduce weed growth.
